An Exceptional Mechanical Desk by a master furniture maker whose works are conserved in the northwest wing of the Louvre, the Paris Museum of Decorative Arts. This desk was made for the 1834 exposition des produits de l’industrie française, or the Paris Exhibition which was a precursor to the World’s Fairs which began in 1851.

This masterpiece of furniture art is in rosewood with fine inlay of holly wood, and gilded bronze (excellent primary materials of the day, still in remarkable condition). This piece is sold.
