Antiques, art, historic buildings and old stuff – matter. It’s another language that takes us to parts of who we are as a people that other historical evidence doesn’t. The Decorative Arts Movement was one of the most important things going on in the arts & humanities in the late 20th century. The study of early American life and material culture was part of the birthing of many museums – small, large, local, & national. This is the story of how it unfolded and my thoughts on what needs to happen next. I lecture on this topic and others and can be reached at [email protected] – Thanks for watching – Bill Hosley
